Suzanne is happy in Rome. She is a visitor-a tourist, some might say, of this lovely ancient city. It is her first time out of her home country and she plans to spend at least another month in this small town before she goes back to the U. S. to begin work as a surgeon. This is her last chance before she enters the "real world" - it is essentially her passage from a college student to an adult in the work force. She is so happy - surrounded by college friends speaking on political issues of the day while immersing herself in the food and culture of the city is the exact experience she would like to have before she gives up her life to such a busy profession.
